This year has been my best ever at College Street School because I have made two new friends, Joseph and Seth.  I have really loved being in Grill 2.0 because it has been the most fun ever.  Mr R and Miss G have made this year amazing with all the fun activities they have organized for us like playing “Capture the Flag” and going to camp at Sixtus Lodge. It was the most fun I had all year and don't forget the walk at the camp that was hard.

One time I remember this year, Joseph, Jack Bauer and I were messing around at the back of the field.  We found a dead bird and we named it Tom.  We put it next to a tree and it sank into the ground. Joseph said “Tom's been mummified!” and I pretended to faint and we took the mummified bird to a whole new level by pretending to be human dominoes. Jack joined in and did what I was doing and we made human domino's. It was fun so we kept doing it over and over again. It started to give me a headache so we stopped and played another game and I tripped over.  We started it over and over again but it was fun.  

I won't forget the time when we were reading a book called spider and I decided to put my t shirt. I will tell you about the story so there was a boy who had a dumb brain and wered his top back to front different socks and for maths he got mixed up on two subjects and he likes Egypt and they were going to the museam and they looked at greek and Spider saw a part that had eygtoin stuff in it so he went to it and the teacher was looking for him after that she found him and took him back to the class.

The day I die

I walking down this road it's deserted and he has nothing to drink and to eat when he looks up and sees something in the distances he yells “hay can I have some food and water” the other man says “ no i’m out” he grabs out his and bang! He dies then that's how it all went when he shot him he quickly grabbed the bot and it hit the bot instead of him. He rises up grabbed the gun and knocks him out then baang!.

One day

Chapter 1

One day there was a guy called Phone guy and he was relaxing on his couch and playing his game. Phone guy went out and checked the mailbox he grabbed out a application he

took the job.Later that night he got ready for the job he drove over and went in it was empty he went into his office and checked the cameras “one has moved” he said. And it got closer and closer and closer he tried shutting the door it didn’t work it finally shut

Then someone got hit and knocked out by the door the police came and he got in jail.

Chapter 2

Ring Ring goes the phone Phone guy gets up and picks up the phone and says “hello” the guy says “we need you” Phone guy says “fine but don’t disturbed “

so he gets changed and heads over to the shop he walks in and once again it was

silent. He walks to his office and sits down he shines the light in the hallway no one was there he checked the camera he finds the

Music box and winds it up he checks the hallway again and fox was the he runs to the nightguard and jumps at him and the clock turns 6.oo  and runs out of the shop

And goes home.

Chapter 3

On the couch looking at the T.V the famous Phone guy. At 12.00 am the t.v turns on he looks at he tv thinking how did it turn on? He walks over and gets

Scared  by his old dole he walked past it and tearing of the t.v and looks at his time and he realizes that he's

Late. Phone guy gets in his car and rides off to work. Phone guy goes to his office and looks around he searches for the one and only spring trap. He finds

Spring trap he runs to the office and distracts him. He hufs and puffs by the run he has it tearns 6.00 and that's how it all happened.

T ball and taking action

On Thursday the 10th of November we got a idea witch was a rotation. Me and Joseph and Lee vi picked sport and we split up into groups our group is sport.

Friday we made a dock with our date that we would do it on. Monday the 13th we continued on the dock miss G took us out side and she changed the date to next Tuesday up till now. Today we are going to do create a kahoot. Now we are going to teach people about t ball.

The day passes bye

The bell rings ring ring every one goes to there classes and sits on the mat and does the roll. Once the rolls done we do our work and the time goes slow by doing fast track. There was a boy named Jack witch hates slow stuff like the time and slow people and the loading wheel. there is too army that hates Jack for killing half of there army. The time on his computer sucks him in and time and slow joined army's and waiting for Jack to come.

My role in the production

My Role in the Production

Today I'm going to talk to you about my role in the production of "Cinderella Rockerfella" that College Street Normal School put on this term. My role in the production was the boys dance.  I was embarrassed about some of the parts because I am not used to performing in front of a big crowd and my parents were going to be there.
My other part was another dance that the boys did during the ballroom scene. The boys dance took so long to finally get right!  We had to practice our moves a lot before we got the dance right. At the end of the of

the boys dance we had to split in two bunches and the band played their music.

I liked the first dance the best because we got to dance to a medley of four different songs.  The songs were really cool and great to dance to.  I was so happy that we managed to do our dance so well because when we first started rehearsing I did not think the dance would turn out very well.

I am so happy that I got to be a part of this production because I probably won't get to do another production at PNINS or high school.  It was very exciting being on the stage at the Regent.  It made me feel like I was a professional being there and performing in front of an audience. I felt really proud at the end during the finale when all the parents and the rest of the audience were clapping and cheering.  I was really happy that my parents got to see me perform at the Regent.

I think I will remember this experience forever because it was so much fun and we did such an amazing job. We are so lucky to have teachers like Miss G, Miss Blewitt and Mrs Watene-Pearson who organised the production.  The production was a brilliant experience for me to have in my last year at CSNS.

On Monday the 2nd of May we had T.T.S. (traditional teaching style). We couldn't enter the classroom until 8.50am. At the start of school everyone on the deck was confused. When we got inside Mr R said we weren't allowed to smile. It was very hard to not smile that was the longest time I've ever not smiled for.

Next we had to do maths with a pencil and a textbook. That was the dumbest part of all because I am used to working with computers, not textbooks. Then we did dictionary skills but the teachers were too fast and I couldn't keep up with them. That made me feel guilty and I was worried that they would tell me off.  If we had to do this everyday, I would not want to come to school.

At morning tea we had to march across the school. It was really embarrassing because the little kids were staring at us.  After that we had to play a game of walking tag. Walking tag is when you have to walk around the the boundaries and try to tag people. It was fun and I might want to do it again.  It is probably the only thing from our TTS experience that I would want to do again!

After morning tea we had to sit down and the teachers started to laugh in front of us. They told us they had been using TTS so we would appreciate what we have in our class and how it helps us learn. I felt relieved that we wouldn't have to do that again!

My Favourite Thing in GRi11 is ...

My favourite thing in GRi11 2.0 is Fast Track.

Fast Track is a grid made in Google Sheets that has our learning listed in it. It lists the tasks and where the tasks can be found. Once we finish the tasks we copy the link, shorten the URL, then we put the link into Fast Track and highlight it green.

There are Maths, Integration, Writing, Reading and other tasks. My favourite task is Maths because it has fun tasks. If you don’t know where the tasks are, it has it under the tasks that are on the top of the page. And that is my favourite thing to do in learning.

Movie Review - The Jungle Book

Today I'm going to talk to you about The Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling. My favourite part is when the tiger attacks the boy.

My other favourite part is when the boy sets fire to the woods. One part that was funny was when the big ape stood up and got squished by rocks. The whole movie is about a boy that got raised by a panther that belongs to a wolf pack.

The wolf pack took care of him from the time he was a baby. When he was young his father had a fight with a tiger. He had a stick with fire on it. The tiger killed the boys father and he died.

In one part the panther asked to meet the boy at the woods. We he got there the panther wasn't there. Then the snake came and started to go around the boy and tried to get him in a trap and started to trick him into being his friend but he didn't get tricked. He ran away as far as he could and that's when he meet the bear. That's how they got to be Friends. So the bear and the boy started to make inventions to try get the honey down. They finally made one that worked. Other animals came and helped the friends and they finally got it down.

I love this movie! You should watch it!

sports rotatoins

 My favorite sport is golf because I can hit alot of ball. The rotatoin next to the cricket nets. My coach is named rhys and is a cool coach. He tort me the steps of holding the club. He also tort me how to swing a club. One time we played a game of golf flag.

In the holidays I downloaded minecraft and got the furniture mod. I tryed the mod out and there was a TV, shower, bath, mail box, cup, couch and a grand chair.  The grand chair has red at the back it has so much detail. The TV you can change the Channel and it is my favorite thing in the furniture mod. The cup you cant place it down and you can put a smovy in it.

I used the furniture for my house I filled the house with the furniture and put a fire in the house and a shower, couch. I fealt so happy that I downloaded the mod.

Awesome Swimming Sports

Yesterday was our school Swimming Sports. We went to the Lido on the bus. I was thinking "When are we going to get to the Lido?" I was excited about the swimming sports because there were a lot of races.  I had entered the free style and flutter board races.  When I got to the Lido I thought to myself "I can't wait to get in the pool!"

First up was the freestyle race. When I got in the pool everything went quiet. I heard Mr Smith yell "Three... two... one!" then a big bang as he clapped the wooden blocks together.  I was trying to get to the end of the pool as quickly as I could. Arms and legs were flying as we swam like we were possessed!  I tried to see where I was coming in the race but the water was splashing in my face and I couldn't tell where anyone else was in the pool.

I could just make out the end of the pool as I got closer to the end of the race.  Relief flooded through me as I realised that I had almost made it.  I used all the energy I had to power through to the end.  I touched the side of the pool and pulled my head up out of the water.  I could see Cole at the end of the pool as well.  A parent handed me a brown stick.  I had come third!  

A feeling of pride came over me.  I jumped out of the pool and took my stick to Margaret so she could award my house the points I had won.  I felt tired as I walked back to the crowd to wait for the flutter board race.  I hoped my next race would go as well as the freestyle race had. 

Water Safety

Every Friday for swimming we go to the Lido and we practise swimming in the pool so we get confident in the water. Ashwin, Jaykib, and Carter are in my group. We floated on our tummies to learn how to save us from drowning. The treading water was a bit hard but I managed to get it. Next we tried diving for batons. It was fun. At the end I felt like my legs were gone because they were so tired!

Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl

I can recommend reading any book by Roald Dahl because they have adventure and humour in them. 

Roald Dahl has written over twenty books for kids.  They are suitable for a range of different ages.  I would recommend starting by reading some of his shorter books, like "The Twits", "Fantastic Mr Fox" and "The Magic Finger".  If you like those you will probably enjoy his longer stories like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "James and the Giant Peach".

Roald Dahl makes up funny words in his stories and his characters are unique.  The illustrations in his books are done by Quentin Blake and they really help you get an idea of what the characters look like.

The books are nice and easy to read and they are so exciting that you just want to keep on reading right to the end!

If you are interested in reading some of Roald Dahl's books, they are available at the school library or the City Library.

2016 Sixtus Lodge camp

This year on Monday the 21st 2016 we went to Sixtus Lodge for camp. Here are some of my highlights.

First was the Burma trail.It is my favorite because I like getting scared and I felt like I was in a horror movie. My other highlight was riding the horses because I liked the walk.
